Sacrifice of Isaac
Genesis 22:1-19
“Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, ‘Abraham!’
‘Here I am,’ he replied.
“God said, ‘Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of
Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you
about'” (Gen 22:1-2).
What a late night jolt! Can you imagine getting this disturbing message in the middle of the night? And what do you do? Do you follow though with it? Do you question whether or not the message was really from the Lord God? Do you talk with your wife, the child’s mother, about it?
