Your kid’s an All Star? Wow! Someday he’ll be average like the rest of us.

The link above does a fantastic job of talking about apathetic faith and passing that apathy down to our kids by the things we do (and don’t do).

  1. HEARD ABOUT A BOOK ON WMBI MORNING RIDE RE. LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL.
WE HAVE A 10 YEAR OLD GIRL THAT IS VERY MUCH INTO BAASEBALL. AT PRESENT TIME IS PLAYING ON AN ALL STAR TEAM. WON THE 1ST TOURNAMENT AND IS NOW PLAYING IN SECOND TOURNAMENT IN ORLANDO, FL. SHE PLAYS ALL POSITIONS WELL—-AND WILLING PLAYS ANY POSITION THE COACHES PLACE HER—EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT HER FAVORITES. VERY MUCH A TEAM PLAYER. THE FAMILY ARE NOT REGULAR CHURCH ATTENDERS. SHE LOVES TO READ IS A 100% GRADE STUDENT SINCE KINDERGARTEN. I AM LOOKING FOR BOOKS OR WHATEVER THAT WOULD LEAD HER TO CHRIST. PRAY FOR HER DILIGENTLY. I AM HER GRANDMOTHER.

    • My suggestion would be to start with the Bible… not your adult Bible, but either a children’s storybook Bible like the “Jesus Storybook Bible” (link available on the right of this comment) or young teenage or tween Bible that you can pick up at your local Christian bookstore or online @ CBD.com or Amazon.com

I’ve been really thinking about your question to “what books would lead your granddaughter to Christ?”, and the answer I’ve come to is NO book can do such a thing. Books can assist alongside of YOU as you relate and talk with your granddaughter. Your relationship and your influence, and the obvious power of the Holy Spirit, can lead her to the Lord. And the best book I can think of to start is the Bible.

      Does this help?
