I sometimes do this with my kids when I can’t understand what they are saying… but I agree cautiously, while wondering what I just agreed to!
I also sometimes do this @ church when people are talking to me but my mind is elsewhere. It sound bad, but with so many people vying for your attention, it is difficult (at least for me) to be fully present with every conversation.
