I’ve been thinking a lot lately, as I’m sure the rest of the inhabitants of the USA are in these uncertain economic times. We don’t know what to do about the declining economy because what has always seemed to work in the past are not working like they used to (or should in some people’s minds).
I’m not ready to make a value judgment either way yet, but in the meantime it’s good to gather data and gain perspective on what is going on “economically” around the world.

I see that Ghana is on this map. The people I met in Ghana who knew the Lord were very joyful. They worked hard for their families, drawing water from the community well and either harvesting with a machete or gleaning the fields to use the stalks for fuel. My “needs” are pretty insignificant compared to that!
We have a much different perspective on what our “needs” are versus the rest of the world… and I’m pointing the finger largely at myself when I say that. We don’t know what we don’t know, and we really only know what our experience is, but our increasingly “globally” connected world makes it much more difficult to not be educated.
