This quote from Paul Martin really speaks to whether we believe the Gospel in and of itself is “good news”:
When we, for whatever reason, think that the gospel in itself isn’t attractive, we have lost sight of our faith. Using entertainment to dress up our faith or baiting outreach with gimmicks shows an individual loss of the need for the good news.
Can the Gospel of Jesus Christ stand by itself? Or do we need to “dress” it up?
I still remember my first SS teacher. She wasn’t pretty and she was not the best teacher in the world but: she loved Jesus and the Bible so very much that the Story came alive and we wanted to KNOW HIM. And I did find HIM as my Savior!
